Hector Bellerin wins all-Arsenal showdown against Danielle Carter in NBA 2K17 Tournament

The fourth clash of the #NBA2K17 Celebrity Gaming Tournament featured an all-Arsenal match-up between Hector Bellerin and Arsenal Ladies’ forward Danielle Carter.

Playing as 2016 NBA Finals LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers, the Spanish right-back Bellerin put on a clinic. Despite attempting a desperate comeback in the third quarter that brought her to within one point, Carter, playing as the Oklahoma City Thunder, had a difficult fourth quarter ultimately losing 29-49 to her clubmate.

Bellerin will now face teammate Carl Jenkinson in the quarterfinal of the tournament for what will be another all-Arsenal match-up and an exciting derby between the two Gunners right-backs.

Speaking after his victory, 21 year-old Bellerin said: “I was hitting a lot of threes. That wrist was on fire! I’ve been training all day, so it showed in the score”. Commenting on his key player of the game, Bellerin added: “LeBron is always my guy. I just give him the ball and he makes it happen”.

On Bellerin’s performance, Carter said:“Hector was giving all the trash talk. He fell off a bit and I got it to within one point, but I couldn’t follow through.”

The 16-person tournament continues next week with American model and actor Tyson Beckford taking on Italian rapper Ghemon, followed by another football showdown featuring Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland and Chelsea FC centre-back Kurt Zouma.
