Carl Jenkinson brings home London derby against Asmir Begovic in NBA 2K17 Tournament

Chelsea FC goalkeeper Asmir Begovic and Arsenal right-back Carl Jenkinson battled it out in a game of NBA 2K17 in the third clash of the #NBA2K17 Celebrity Gaming Tournament, which has already seen Tottenham Hotspur’s Erik Lamela and West Ham United’s Diafra Sakho advance to the quarter-finals.

Jenkinson put aside his more accustomed defensive skills sharpened on the football pitch, opting for a full-court offense playing as last year’s Eastern Conference Finalists Toronto Raptors. Supported by teammate Hector Bellerin, who is also competing in the tournament, Jenkinson secured a 47-34 victory over Begovic’s San Antonio Spurs.

Speaking after his loss, the Bosnian goalkeeper Begovic said:

“I think I picked the wrong team, but it was good fun. Carl deserved the victory”.

The 16-person tournament continues on Friday with the Arsenal showdown between right-back Bellerin and Arsenal Ladies forward Danielle Carter.
